Brendan Kempf is a landscape architect driven by the study and application of ecological processes in design. Brendan’s thesis research on applying mechanisms of ecological succession for Southern California brownfield restoration shapes his approach to landscape architecture. He brought this knowledge to the Willow Springs Wetlands Restoration project in Long Beach and the Water Replenishment District of Southern California’s flagship advanced water treatment facility in Pico Rivera. He is well versed in green roof technologies and designed and built the Demonstration Green Roof at Connecticut College. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Studies and Cultural Anthropology from Connecticut College and his Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Southern California.
