Patrícia Akinaga

Patrícia Akinaga is a landscape architect, architect and urban planner with over 20 years of experience. She has leveraged her creative and analytical talents for adaptive reuse projects, reclaimed landscapes, urban parks, mixed-use developments and educational campuses in the U.S., South America, and Africa. Patricia speaks multiple languages and brings sensitivity to the cultural nuances of the places we work. She bases her designs on sustainable planning and solutions that restore the environment and enrich social well-being. She teaches and lectures in the US and Brazil.  Patricia earned a Master of Landscape Architecture from UC Berkeley and a PhD in Landscape Architecture and Environmental Design from the University of São Paulo. She is the Principal in charge of the  Studio-MLA San Francisco office.
