Akshai Wilkinson

Project Designer

Akshai Wilkinson

Akshai’s fascination with urban ecology and living material led him from boutique architectural studios to public space design. His keen eye for craftsmanship in construction detailing spans a diverse range of projects, both indoors and outdoors, combining a lifelong love of botany with creative problem-solving at the intersection of ecology, art, and public infrastructure. Since joining Studio-MLA, he has contributed to projects that embody the firm’s advocacy-based design approach. The ethos of nature, wonder, mobility, and community has been intrinsic to his methodology, shaping spaces that inspire and connect people. Akshai holds a Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture from Cornell University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from Kamla Raheja Vidyanidhi Institute of Architecture and Environmental Studies. He continues to explore the interface of ecology, creativity, and public life through each project he undertakes, translating ideas into meaningful, lasting experiences in the public realm. He is based in our Los Angeles studio.
