David Koo is an urban & landscape designer dedicated to the craft of making vibrant places within our urban landscape. From designing major urban corridors in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles to redefining memorials in Nagasaki, Japan, David has a comprehensive understanding of how spaces are used and how humans and nature could thrive together within them. David’s passion for high-quality design comes from his desire for simple, yet beautiful places. He believes that neighborhood culture and connections to larger ecological systems are essential when designing for people and cities. His toolkit includes visual communication to narrate good design ideas and a planning framework to collaborate and realize projects in the public realm. David received his Bachelor of Arts in Urban and Regional Planning from Cal Poly Pomona and Master of Landscape Architecture from University of California, Berkeley. David is based in our San Francisco studio.
