Melissa Guerrero

Mel has dedicated her 14-year career partnering with communities and public agencies to transform overlooked urban areas into vibrant public green spaces that enhance ecology, social life, health, and dignity. Her work primarily focuses on Los Angeles neighborhoods that have faced disinvestment and environmental injustice. These past inequities inspire her to design restorative spaces that integrate natural systems and sustainable materials in elegant, contemporary, and culturally nuanced ways. Mel is honored to have contributed to projects like Lewis MacAdams Riverfront Park, Bradley Plaza and Green Alley, and Wishing Tree Park. As a local environmental leader, she serves as Board President for Community Nature Connection and teaches community design at Cal Poly Pomona and USC. They hold a BA in Archaeology from Columbia University and an MLA from Harvard University Graduate School of Design. She is based in our Los Angeles studio.
