Senior Landscape Architect

San Francisco

Overview of Position
Studio-MLA seeks a passionate Senior Landscape Architect with a minimum of 15 years of professional experience as a creative thinker with high-level design skills in the field of Landscape Architecture to join our San Francisco office. The candidate will be a design resource, developing innovative and thoughtful solutions to address environmental issues and demonstrating inspirational thinking to engage large multi-disciplinary project teams and our own studio-wide design discourse. The candidate must have strong experience in landscape architectural conceptual design through construction at wide range of scales and project typologies and have a large local network of subconsultants and clients. Project sector work will vary and may include institutions, infrastructure, waterfronts, urban core, complex infill, and parks, in California and beyond. The candidate will provide design leadership to the staff, knowledge of system-thinking methodology, and advanced level of constructability.

  • Possess strong verbal, written, and graphic communication skills
  • Explore innovative solutions for performative site design and infrastructural systems
  • Work effectively within a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to manage projects and coordinate subconsultants
  • Familiar with agency review and technical knowledge

Skills and Experience

  • Degree in landscape architecture is preferred
  • Minimum of 15 years professional experience
  • License is required
