Silver Lake Reservoir Path and Meadow

The Silver Lake Reservoir Pedestrian Path was completed in December 2008 as the first phase of improvements from the Silver Lake Reservoir Master Plan. Using traffic-calming methods, the new pedestrian path provided a protected two-mile loop to enable pedestrians to traverse safely around the reservoir. The $4.4 million project preserved existing trees while providing a new permeable decomposed granite walking path, pedestrian safety walls to separate people from automobile traffic, drought tolerant trees and shrubs, an efficient irrigation system and low-energy lighting. In April 2011, Studio-MLA completed phase two of Master Plan improvements with the Silver Lake Meadow, a 2.5-acre passive park on the eastside of the lake featuring tranquil planting, open space and expansive views. Today, the Silver Lake Reservoir pedestrian path and meadow are integral to the community.
