Jan Dyer PLA, ASLA

Principal

Jan Dyer

Growing up on the East Coast gave Jan an early appreciation for how landscapes shape memory, identity, and community. Drawn to places where people gather, she came to see how much landscape shaped her own decisions. That understanding still informs how she creates meaningful public places.

Jan sees infrastructure as civic landscape. She leads projects where transportation, rivers, parks, and public space intersect, working with agencies to turn complex systems into places that strengthen communities, restore ecological function, and improve everyday mobility. She is drawn to work that brings many partners together, navigates public process, and turns long-range vision into action.

As a Principal at Studio-MLA, Jan brings more than 30 years of experience leading infrastructure, transportation, river, and public realm projects throughout California. Her work includes the Los Angeles River Revitalizaiton Master Plan, Upper Los Angeles River and Tributaries Revitalization Master Plan, the San Gabriel River Greenway Network Strategic Implementation Plan, and the Riverside Gateway Project Suite, along with dozens of civic campuses, transit-oriented public spaces, airport improvements, and watershed plans. She currently leads multidisciplinary teams integrating mobility, resilience, recreation, and environmental restoration.

Jan also contributes to pursuit strategies and business development for Studio-MLA’s infrastructure and transportation work, partnering with clients and consultant teams to build competitive pursuits. Her fluency with public agencies and procurement positions both projects and teams for long-term success. Jan holds a Certificate in Landscape Architecture from UCLA. She is a licensed landscape architect in California and is based in Studio-MLA’s Los Angeles office.
