Principal

Coming from a family of architects, Kush Parekh developed an early appreciation for the complexity of cities and the relationships between culture, ecology, infrastructure, and everyday life that shape them. He enjoys projects that balance bold ideas with technical realities, believing the strongest landscapes emerge through curiosity, collaboration, and a deep understanding of how places are built, experienced, and evolve over time.

As a Principal at Studio-MLA, Kush brings more than 20 years of experience leading complex civic, cultural, and urban development projects. He led the effort for Hollywood Park and SoFi Stadium, helping transform the former Hollywood Park Racetrack into one of the country’s most significant urban redevelopment projects, and has led work spanning parks, educational campuses, public infrastructure, and mixed-use developments. He is currently leading the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in Los Angeles, the California Indian Heritage Center in West Sacramento, and a portfolio of parks, hospitality, mixed-use, and urban development projects throughout California.

Beyond project work, Kush helps shape the firm’s design direction through mentorship, design leadership, and strategic initiatives across the practice. He is an active contributor to the profession through speaking engagements, advisory roles, and industry events that explore the evolving role of landscape architecture in shaping public space.

Kush holds a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture with a minor in City and Regional Planning from The Ohio State University. He is a licensed landscape architect and works from Studio-MLA’s Los Angeles and San Francisco studios.
